The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is widening State Road (SR) 70 from Bourneside Boulevard to Waterbury Road from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway. Safety features will include roundabouts to be constructed at 197th Street East/Lindrick Lane, 213th Street East, 225th Street East/Panther Ridge Trail and County Road 675/Waterbury Road. The project will also include the installation of a new drainage system, new curb and gutter, construction of 10-foot shared-use paths and 5-foot paved shoulders on both sides of the roadway, street lighting throughout the project and landscaping inside the roundabouts.

    This week’s work will consist of:

    ·         Future eastbound construction will continue with stabilized subgrade and base construction between 213th Street and Meadow Dove Lane, on the south side of S.R. 70.

    ·         Construction of embankment and stabilization for future eastbound lanes east of Meadow Dove Lane.

    ·         Installing temporary pavement markings and reopening 213th Street at S.R. 70. This is expected early in the week.

    ·         Installing conduit for lighting electrical services.

    ·         Backfilling of a box culvert between Lindrick Lane and 213th Street in existing S.R. 70 lanes at the location where traffic was diverted.

    ·         Installing drainage and grading the outfall at the new box culvert, on the south side of S.R. 70 between 197th Street and 213th Street.

    ·         Clearing on the North side of S.R. 70 for future shared use path at 197th Street.

    ·         Utility relocations on the north side of S.R. 70.

    Please be aware that  213th Street is closed to construct the south portion of the 213th Street Road roundabout. During this time no traffic will be permitted to enter or exit 213th via S.R. 70. A complete detour and message boards are provided for the detour. 213th Street is scheduled to be reopened this week.

     

    Panther Ridge Trail will be closed starting on November 10th, 2025, to construct the South portion of the Panther Ridge Trail roundabout. During this time no traffic will be permitted to enter or exit Panther Ridge Trail via S.R. 70. A complete detour and message boards will be provided in advance of the closure being implemented.
