The US 92 resurfacing project from west of Jersey Road to west of US 17 is intended to extend the service life of the existing roadway and improve safety. As part of this project, the median opening 1,000 ft northeast of the intersection of US 92 and Lynchburg Rd will be closed.

The project also includes: milling and resurfacing of the existing pavement and outside shoulders along US 92; construction of inside paved shoulders along the median in both directions; widening at the existing right-turn lanes to provide keyhole bicycle lanes; replacement of the existing median curb; minor drainage improvements; minor signalization and other improvements at the intersection with Lynchburg Road to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) criteria; driveway reconstruction; new pavement markings; and updated signage.

FDOT hosted an online public meeting on April 11, 2023, and an in-person meeting at the FIrst Church of God, 3025 Highway 92 West in Winter Haven on April 13, 2023. the purpose of the meetings was to present planned changes and take input from the public.
