About
To improve safety and traffic flow, the FDOT will add a new traffic signal at the intersection of SR 17 and Kokomo Road. The project is currently scheduled to begin in early 2026, depending on availability of signal materials.
In addition to the new traffic signal, pedestrian signals, high visibility crosswalks, sidewalk and lighting will be added around the intersection.
During construction, motorists should expect lane closures at night/overnight.
The project is one of three combined into one contract to add signals at three separate intersections throughout FDOT District 1.
