About
To improve safety and traffic flow, the FDOT will add a new traffic signal at the intersection of SR 17 and Kokomo Road. In addition to the new traffic signal, pedestrian signals, high visibility crosswalks, sidewalk and lighting will be added around the intersection.
During construction, motorists should expect lane closures at night/overnight.
The project is one of three combined into one contract to add signals at three separate intersections throughout FDOT District 1.

This project is one of three equally important signal projects under this contract. As a result, crews may be working at one of the other project sites. All three signals are expected to be operational in late fall.
When approaching a new signal that is not yet operational and is still covered in plastic, treat it as if the signal is not there and follow the existing signage. Do not treat the intersection as a four-way stop unless it was previously signed that way.
