About

To improve safety and traffic flow, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of SR 33 (Commonwealth Avenue) and Mount Olive Road.

In addition to the new traffic signal, the project includes pedestrian signals, high-visibility crosswalks, new sidewalks, and roadway lighting at the intersection to enhance safety and accessibility for motorists and pedestrians.

During construction, motorists should expect periodic nighttime and overnight lane closures. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and allow extra travel time when traveling through the work zone.

This project is one of three signal improvement projects being constructed under a single FDOT District One contract. Construction is taking place concurrently at all three intersections, although crews may not be working at each location every day. All three projects are scheduled to be completed at approximately the same time.
