About

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One is constructing safety improvements on State Road (SR) 600 (US 17/92) from Hinson Avenue to McKeown Avenue in Haines City. Project improvements include constructing a 14-foot-wide raised grass median with curb and gutter to replace the existing two-way left turn throughout the project limits, widening the northwest corner at the intersection of Hinson Avenue and US 17/92 to accommodate right turns for larger tucks, and constructing a directional median with left turn lanes, raised concrete median islands and traffic separators in both directions at Melbourne Avenue.

Public Involvement

A virtual public meeting was held on January 18, 2022, to review the current conditions and present proposed median modifications to improve safety.
