About
Project Description
The purpose of the US 41 at Bonita Beach Road (C.R. 865) Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study is to address congestion and projected travel demand at the intersection and immediate surrounding area. The study area is located within Bonita Springs, Florida in southern Lee County.
Need for the Project
The purpose of this project is to evaluate the need for capacity-related improvements, as well as ways to improve safety conditions and provide for multi-modal features within this area of Bonita Springs, Florida. The project objectives include improving operational conditions, enhancing east-west access, enhancing freight mobility and access, increasing throughput, and improving safety among others.
Project Funding
This PD&E project is listed in the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) 5-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Fiscal Year 2022/2023 - 2026/2027. The next phase in the project development process, final design, is not yet funded. This project is also being closely coordinated with the on-going PD&E for Old US 41 from US 41 to Bonita Beach Road.
