I-4 at State Road (S.R.) 33 (Exit 38): Construction project: Project improvements include reconstructing the existing interchange, reconstructing I-4 bridges over S.R. 33, widening and resurfacing S.R. 33, constructing wildlife crossings over I-4 and under S.R. 33, and adding noise walls along S.R. 33. This week, crews will work on clearing vegetation, installation of barrier walls, and install temporary asphalt.
- Beginning Monday, November 3, 2025, construction crews began installing sound wall posts along S.R. 33 as part of ongoing roadway improvements. Work will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. During this time, residents and motorists may experience increased noise levels due to construction activities. Crews will be working close to property right of way lines, and the public is urged to use caution and remain aware of their surroundings when near the construction zone. This proximity is necessary to complete the installation safely and efficiently.
- Motorists should expect single lane closures on I-4 during nighttime/overnight hours from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. through the duration of the construction.
- Motorists should expect double lane closures on I-4 during nighttime/overnight hours from 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. through the duration of the construction.

I-75 at S.R. 951 (exit 101) Interchange Improvements: FDOT is reconstructing the I-75 southbound on- and off-ramp connections and the northbound on-ramp connection to the mainline lanes at S.R. 951 (exit 101). The northeast quadrant loop ramp will be connected to, and accessible only by, a direct flyover ramp from northbound Collier Boulevard starting south of the Davis Boulevard intersection. This single-lane flyover ramp will carry traffic over Beck Boulevard and a reconstructed I-75 southbound on-ramp. A single-lane flyover ramp extension will carry I-75 southbound traffic over Davis Boulevard to a new signalized intersection at Collier Boulevard and Business Circle North. This ramp will extend along the western side of Collier Boulevard.
The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions.
- During the nighttime/overnight hours on Wednesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 19:
- Motorists should expect the travel lanes on S.R. 951/Collier Blvd. to shift for crews to install bridge beams for I-75 southbound over the road.
- Motorists should expect the outside lane of I-75 southbound closed.
Please drive with caution and expect law enforcement onsite to assist motorists.
- Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures for southbound and northbound C.R. 951/Collier Boulevard during nighttime/overnight hours for crews to install temporary barrier wall, move equipment, deliver materials, and construct the overhead bridge work.
- Motorists should expect the outside right turn lane from southbound S.R. 951 to westbound S.R. 84/Davis Boulevard closed. Drivers can continue to turn right from the remaining open turn lane. This closure is needed for crews to begin work for the bridge foundation installation and will remain in place through job completion.
- Pedestrians should expect a sidewalk closure along S.R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) just west of S.R. 951 (Collier Boulevard) and along S.R. 951 (Collier Boulevard) between S.R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) and Business Circle North. Pedestrians may use S.R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) to Market Street to Business Circle South to access S.R. 951 (Collier Boulevard).
- Motorists are advised that the S.R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) eastbound direct access ramp heading south to S.R. 951 (Collier Boulevard) is permanently closed. The eastbound to southbound right turn will be available at the intersection.
- Motorists should expect reduced lane widths for southbound Collier Boulevard between Business Circle North and Business Circle South.

The interchange improvements include reconstruction of the Pine Ridge Road Interchange converting to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) design, reconstruction of the interchange on and off ramps, construction of pedestrian and bicycle accommodations through the interchange, installation of new signals at the ramps, and resurfacing of Pine Ridge Road through the project area.
The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions.
Crews will be working on paving, drainage installation, roadway work, pond excavation, and underground utilities.
Motorists should anticipate lane closures on Pine Ridge Road during the nighttime/overnight hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please use extra caution when driving through this area and expect delays.
Please note that traffic on Pine Ridge Road on the east side of I-75 has shifted to the north. During the nighttime/overnight hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. from Sunday, March 15 through Thursday, March 19, motorists should anticipate lane closures on northbound I-75 for crews to work on temporary roadway construction.
Please note that as of Wednesday, March 11, the westbound lanes on Daniels Parkway, west of I-75, are shifted slightly to the south, then back to the north. Traffic on the southbound I-75 off-ramp has also shifted to the east. Please pay attention to signs and pavement marking and drive with caution.
Crews will be working on earthwork throughout the project area.
Motorists are advised that the speed limit has been reduced in the project area. Please follow all posted signage.
Pedestrian access has been shifted to the south side of Daniels Parkway. Please follow signs and proceed with caution in the work zone.

S.R. 572 from Airport Road to Pipkin Creek Road and S.R. 572 Roundabout at Waring Road: Construction project: Project improvements include resurfacing and lane widening on S.R. 572 and a new roundabout at Waring Road. This week, crews will work on roadway grading, utilities, and median installations along Drane Field Road. During the median installations, flaggers will be present as crews conduct work on either side of the roadway. Drivers should exercise caution and be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway during this operation.

S.R. 70 from Lorraine Road to Bourneside Boulevard: Construction project: This project includes widening S.R. 70 from Lorraine Road to Bourneside Boulevard from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane or six-lane divided roadway, depending on the location, construction of roundabouts on S.R. 70 at Uihlein Road, Del Webb Boulevard, and Bourneside Boulevard, intersection improvements at the existing signalized intersection of Greenbrook Boulevard and Lorraine Road, construction of four bridges over two Braden River crossing locations, new drainage system, construction of 10-foot shared use paths, street lighting, and landscaping, and installation of new fiber optic cable connecting the two signalized intersections to Manatee County’s regional Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS).
Safety Notice - Recently, bicyclists and pedestrians have been observed entering the work zone and using shared-use paths within the project limits. Although these areas may appear finished, construction activities are still ongoing. These areas are not open to the public and may contain open excavations, fresh asphalt, or uncured concrete, posing significant safety hazards to anyone not affiliated with the project. These roadways and shared-use paths within the work zone are clearly marked as closed with signage. Additionally, vehicles have been observed driving through closed side streets while workers are present, creating a serious risk of injury or accident.
This week’s work will consist of:
- Excavation of the pond on the north side of S.R. 70, west of Uihlein Road.
- Installing slope protection rip-rap on both S.R. 70 westbound bridges. Forming and pouring concrete pile caps.
- Demolition of the existing S.R. 70 median east of Lorraine Road. Flagging and lane closures will be present in both directions of S.R. 70 for this work. Please exercise caution with construction equipment and personnel working close to current S.R. 70 traffic.
- Grading base between Bourneside Boulevard and Polo Run on the north side of S.R. 70 for shared use path.
- Installing signalization hardware at the intersection of Greenbrook Boulevard and S.R. 70.
- Grading roadway stabilization and curb pad on Greenbrook Boulevard south of S.R. 70. Installing drainage inlet tops on Greenbrook Boulevard.
- Installing light conduit and foundations on the north side of S.R.70 between Uihlein Road and Bourneside Boulevard.
Greenbrook Boulevard is closed until May 2026 to allow for the construction of the south portion of the Greenbrook Boulevard intersection. During this time, no traffic is permitted on Greenbrook Boulevard between S.R. 70 and Skip Jack Loop in either direction. The north side of Greenbrook Boulevard and S.R. 70 will remain open. A full detour route and message boards are in place in advance of the closure.
Please use caution and watch for trucks and construction vehicles entering or exiting the work zone throughout the construction limits. Work will take place Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Be aware of workers and flaggers in the area.
The estimated completion date for construction is Summer 2027.

S.R. 55 (U.S. 19) and S.R. 684; from 23rd Avenue W to 39th Street E, from Terra Ceia Road to I-275 and at Royal Palm Drive, Manatee: Construction project: These projects include making improvements along S.R. 55 (U.S. 19) from 23rd Avenue W to 39th Street E, S.R. 55 (U.S. 19) from Terra Ceia Road to I-275 (northbound ramp) and along S.R. 684 at Royal Palm Drive in Manatee County. Improvements will involve milling and resurfacing S.R. 55 from 23rd Avenue W to 39th Street E implementing safety improvements, guardrail replacements, sidewalk repair, lighting updates, pedestrian signal replacements, and median modifications. The estimated completion date for construction is spring 2027.
- S.R. 55 (U.S. 301/U.S. 41) from 23rd Avenue W. to 39th Street E. - Motorists should expect outside lane closures in both the northbound and southbound directions between 13th Avenue W. and 6th Avenue W. Work will take place nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, March 15; Monday, March 16; Tuesday, March 17; and Thursday, March 18. Please use caution and watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zone.
The estimated completion date for construction is spring 2027.

.R. 70 from Bourneside Boulevard to Waterbury Road, Bradenton: Construction project: This project includes widening S.R. 70 from Bourneside Boulevard to Waterbury Road from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway, Safety features will include roundabouts to be constructed at 197th Street East/Lindrick Lane, 213th Street East, 225th Street East/Panther Ridge Trail and County Road 675/Waterbury Road. The project will also include the installation of a new drainage system, new curb and gutter, construction of 10-foot shared-use paths and five-foot paved shoulders on both sides of the roadway, street lighting throughout the project and landscaping inside the roundabouts.
Notice: Please refrain from entering the work zone. New pavement has recently been installed that gives the impression of completed areas of work, but these areas are still active and use by non-project staff is a safety hazard as trucks, equipment, and work is ongoing. All new shared use paths and roadways remain closed until further notice. The work zone is an active construction area. For the safety of all, please stay out of the work area.
This week’s work will consist of:
- Grading base west of Lindrick Lane for future eastbound lanes.
- Grading and compacting base material for the shared use path on the north side of S.R. 70 at 197th Street.
- Grading for temporary asphalt at Panther Ridge Trail and 213th Street.
- Sodding the swale on the south side of S.R. 70 east of Meadow Dove Lane.
- Relocating utilities and installing new electrical transformers on the north side of S.R. 70. Pulling lighting conductor to energize installed lighting.
Meadow Dove Lane is closed for the construction of the south portion of the Meadow Dove Lane/C.R. 675 roundabout. During the closure, no traffic will be permitted to enter or exit Meadow Dove Lane via S.R. 70. A full detour is in place, with message boards directing traffic along the detour route. The closure is expected to remain in effect until the end of February 2026.
The estimated completion date for construction is Summer 2027.

S.R. 789 from Bird Key Drive to Sunset Drive: Construction project: This project includes the addition of dedicated bicycle and transit lanes on the bridge, drainage upgrades, and raising the seawall cap near Sunset Drive. Other project activities include resurfacing the roadway throughout the project corridor and the installation of new traffic signals at the intersections of Sunset Drive, Golden Gate Drive, and Bird Key Drive. The project also includes relocating palm trees and small shrubs from their current locations on the eastern area of the John Ringling Causeway to medians closer to St. Armands Circle.
This week’s work will consist of:
- Delivery of machinery and materials.
- Roadway median widening, concrete curb installation, and drainage placement.
- Pedestrians should use designated paths and follow posted detour signs.
- Bike lanes are closed due to construction. Cyclists should follow the posted detour.
Lane closures will be in place during various phases of the project. Construction will primarily take place during daytime hours, with occasional nighttime work. Expect nighttime noise from backup alarms, construction equipment, pumps and power tools during daytime and nighttime operations. Drivers are urged to use caution and watch for workers, construction vehicles, pickup trucks, and equipment entering or exiting the travel lanes.
During construction, the speed limit on Gulfstream Avenue and John Ringling Causeway/S.R. 789 will remain 35 mph. Speeding fines are doubled in the construction zone when workers are present. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously and watch for workers, construction vehicles, pickup trucks, and other equipment entering or exiting travel lanes. The estimated completion date for construction is early 2027.

Expect westbound I-4 on-ramp closure at Kathleen Road (Exit 31) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday for removal of materials. Motorists wanting to enter I-4 westbound should continue northbound on Kathleen Road past the closed ramp. Turn east on Griffin Road to U.S. 98, head north on U.S. 98 and follow it to the I-4 westbound on-ramp at U.S. 98 (Exit 32). Use caution and add time to your schedule to reach your destination.

- Daily lane closures continue on S.R. 25 (U.S. 27) northbound and southbound for shoulder widening sitewide.
- Use caution at the S.R. 25 (U.S. 27) & Dal Hall Boulevard/Tower Street Intersection for construction traffic entering / leaving the median work zone.
- The S.R. 25 (U.S. 27) and Dal Hall Boulevard/Tower Street intersection will have a median closure from March 13 – 23. Please follow detour routes for eastbound or westbound movements.

S.R. 15/U.S. 441 from Martin County Line to SE 30th Terrace: Construction project: will begin resurfacing work on S.R. 15 (U.S. 98) from SE 30th Terrace to the Martin County line. The project includes pavement resurfacing, grinding, new pavement markings, and shoulder treatment.
- Motorists should be aware of changing traffic patterns, heavy equipment, and workers present in the construction zone.
- Daytime lane closures will take place from 7 a.m. To 7 p.m. Additional pavement marking operations may occur throughout the corridor, and intermittent lane closures should be expected during work hours.
- Use caution when traveling through the area and obey posted signage.

S.R. 78 from Lemkin Creek to S.R. 15/U.S. 98: Construction project: Crews are performing thermoplastic pavement marking operations along S.R. 78.

S.R. 70/700 (U.S. 98) from West of U.S. 98 to East of NW 5th Avenue: Construction project: Crews will begin milling and resurfacing operations on S.R. 70/700 (U.S. 98) from west of U.S. 98 to east of NW 5th Avenue starting in October 2025. Work will include milling, resurfacing, and roadway restoration along the project corridor.
- Shoulder closures and intermittent lane closures may occur during construction. Motorists should expect possible traffic shifts and delays. Access to local driveways and businesses will be maintained at all times.
- Nighttime lane closures will take place beginning Thursday, February 12, and continue through the following week as crews perform construction activities.
- Motorists should use caution, reduce speed, and watch for workers and equipment in the construction zone.
- The estimated completion is early 2026.

S.R. 70 from Peace River to Southeast Baker Street: Construction project: Crews will reconstruct approximately 3.4 miles of S.R. 70 within the City of Arcadia. The project includes the installation of new drainage facilities, relocation and addition of sanitary and water and utilities, upgrading traffic signals, reconstructing sidewalks, and installing street lighting in various locations. During construction, lane closures will occur on S.R. 70. Temporary pedestrian pathways are in place while sidewalks are under construction. Detours will be implemented while crews work on side roads. Please follow posted signage and use caution in the area.
- Eastbound S.R. 70 traffic is currently using the right lane from the Peace River to Baldwin Avenue. Between Baldwin Avenue and Dade Avenue, traffic shifts to the left lane, then back to the right lane past Dade Avenue. No lane restrictions are in place past Baker Street.
- Westbound S.R. 70 traffic shifts onto the south side of the roadway past Baker Street to facilitate the construction of a new box culvert. Past Roger Avenue, traffic utilizes the newly constructed left lane to Hillsborough Avenue. Between Hillsborough Avenue and Manatee Avenue, westbound traffic is currently utilizing the right lane. At Manatee Avenue, traffic switches into the newly constructed left lane. No lane restrictions are in place past the Peace River.
- Nearby City of Arcadia, utility and roadway construction on adjacent side streets along the project is ongoing, requiring the closure of certain streets at S.R. 70. Motorists are urged to follow all detour signs and expect delays while this work continues.
- Motorists are urged to use caution when approaching traffic shifts and to follow all lane markings and posted signage.
- Estimated completion is early to mid-2027.

S.R. 777 River Road from I-75 to U.S. 41: Construction project: Road embankment installation continues on the northbound roadway from Aucilla Drive to U.S. 41, and Venice Avenue to I-75. As embankment is completed, drainage installations, subgrade mixing, curb placement, and roadway grading will continue. Sod installation, signal, ITS, and lighting work are ongoing. Trucks will be crossing the road at various locations using intermittent flagging operations. Pothole maintenance will continue as necessary on all current travel ways through the project. Third lane widening operations on the southbound lanes will begin at Venice Avenue. Flagging operations may be used from Venice Avenue to Center Road to guide travelers through the work area.

S.R. 72 (Clark Road) from Honore Avenue to West of Gantt Road: Construction project: The Florida Department of Transportation is milling, resurfacing, installing curb, gutter, drainage and pavement markings on less than one-half mile on Clark Road (S.R. 72) from Honore Avenue to west of Gantt Road in Sarasota County.
- On Friday, March 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. motorists can expect a temporary outside (far right) eastbound lane closure on Clark Road/S.R. 72 east of Applebee’s to allow crews to complete an asphalt repair in the lane. Please be aware of crews and equipment near the roadway while the repairs are being conducted.
- Crews will be finalizing paving operations and preparing for final pavement markings during the next two weeks, weather permitting.
- Please watch for signs, barricades and workers close to the travel lanes and obey posted speed limits in the construction zone.
- The project’s estimated completion is in mid-2026.

I-275 (S.R. 93) from I-75 to Terra Ceia River: Construction project: Crews are milling, resurfacing, and installing pavement markings on 2.2 miles of roadway on I-275 (S.R. 93) from I-75 to Terra Ceia River. The project improvements include milling and resurfacing, shoulder and ramp work, overbuilding for cross-slope correction, guardrail and signing, and pavement markings.
- Throughout the project limits motorists can expect intermittent lane closures as crews continue sign installation operations.
- During the active construction phase, motorists can expect uneven pavement throughout the project limits. Please use caution and follow the posted speed limits.
- Paving will continue once sustained ambient temperatures are above 65 degrees consistently, which is the required temperature for the specific asphalt mix being used for the pavement transitions.
- Estimated completion is late summer 2026.

U.S. 41 (S.R. 45) from North of U.S. 19 (S.R. 55) to 69th Street East (Erie Road). Construction project: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will construct median modifications to reduce conflict points and improve safety starting in early 2026. The project improvements include drainage, guardrail, milling and resurfacing on U.S. 41 from north of S.R. 55 (U.S. 19) to north of 69th Street East (Erie Road). Crews will apply new signing and pavement markings once the final paving has been completed. The project limits are approximately 2.6 miles.
Ramp closures (weather permitting):
Sunday, March 15: The U.S. 41 northbound to U.S. 41 southbound ramp will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to continue northbound, turning left onto Experimental Farm Road, then motorists can turn left onto southbound U.S. 19 to continue to southbound U.S. 41.
Monday, March 16: The U.S. 41 southbound ramp to northbound U.S. 19 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to continue southbound past the ramp via the loop, following the loop to head back northbound, passing south of the ramp onto U.S. 19 northbound.
Please use caution and follow posted signage during the ramp closures and detours.

Crews will install curb and gutter, sidewalk, signalization, lighting, pedestrian beacons at seven new mid-block crosswalks, vehicle detection systems and apply new signing and pavement markings.

Fruitville Road (SR 780) at Beneva Road: Construction/safety project: Crews are working on milling and resurfacing, widening, pavement reconstruction, driveway and turn lane improvements, sidewalks and curb, drainage modifications, signing and pavement markings and signalization on a .15-mile stretch of Fruitville Road, including the intersection at Beneva Road and Fruitville Road.

- Beginning Monday, March 16, 2026, motorists should expect to see construction begin on the roundabout at Babcock Road/State Road 31 and Lake Babcock Drive.
- The contractor will temporarily close Lake Babcock Drive to construct the planned roundabout at the intersection. During this closure, drivers will need to enter and exit Babcock Ranch via detours using Cypress Parkway, Greenway Boulevard, and Saw Palmetto Parkway.
- This temporary closure is expected to remain in place through July.
- Beginning the week of February 2, motorists should expect reduced speeds along Babcock Ranch Road/State Road 31 as the contractor initiates construction activities for the planned roundabout at Lake Babcock Drive. S.R. 789 from the Coquina Park entrance to S.R. 64 (Manatee Avenue West): Construction project: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be milling and resurfacing approximately four miles of S.R. 789 from the Coquina Park entrance to S.R. 64/Manatee Avenue West in fall 2025. In addition to milling and resurfacing, crews will install traffic monitoring devices and will apply new signing and pavement markings. To minimize inconvenience, the project will be done overnight. The project was accelerated to start just after turtle nesting season ends in 2025, and is expected to finish before the next nesting season starts in 2026.
- Motorists can expect overnight single-lane closures through the length of the project for paving operations, weather permitting.

SR 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee River to SR 78 (Bayshore Road): Construction Project: This project is intended to improve safety, enhance traffic flow, and reduce crashes by constructing a continuous raised median, with bi-directional and full median openings. Proposed improvements also consist of milling and resurfacing of the roadway, two pedestrian hybrid beacons, upgrading the traffic signal at Pondella Road, ADA upgrades, lighting, signing and pavement markings, and drainage improvements.
- On Wednesday night, September 17, 2025, the left (inside) lanes on northbound and southbound S.R. 739 were reopened, and the right (outside) lanes were then closed. This traffic shift marks the beginning of Phase 2 of the project.
- During this time, pedestrians should follow the posted detour to access Pondella Road from Pine Island Road.

Crews will be performing roadway widening, including clearing & grubbing, excavations, sodding, subgrade & base construction on the westbound and eastbound of the roadway.
